Look at this ADORABLE little face! Adorable little polar bear face that deserves some serious lovin!
Meet Knewt! This lovable little guy is a 7 year old pit mix. He has had a seriously rough life and is waiting for a forever home that will love him properly. His poor little ears were cropped with scissors!! And was most likely used as a bait dog (literally throwing him in the ring so aggressive fighting dogs could get a taste of blood)! Even with such a terrible past he is soooooo worthy of second chance in life. He is very eager to please and is learning new commands. He also gets along great with dogs, cats and kids! Just don’t go around being too loud around him, or he’ll get startled and frightened (awe poor wittle boy!). Pits are amazing dogs, so if there are any hesitations due to their false “reputation” you must reconsider! THEY ARE THE SWEETEST! Just look at Knewt, I want to grab and squeeze him because he is killing me with his cuteness!
If you have any further questions please contact Page (who rescued this cutie along with many others!). We at Carlton Hobbs really want to see these amazing dogs (lovers not fighters!) get homes! Page does so much for these dogs, so even if you can’t take in a dog, donations to her rescue are great way to help too! Email her at Pageandaiden@gmail.com
See this sweet face?
This is Gabe, and he needs a forever home ASAP!
He currently is in the care of dog rescuer Page, an amazing woman in Augusta, VA who currently has several rescues (6-10 pit bulls) in her care on top of having kids and three jobs! WOW! Now that is a woman of compassion and commitment!
Gabe is a sweet boy that just needs a home that will provide him with the love and care he deserves! He does great with kids, dogs and doesn’t seem to mind cats. He is ready to be the best friend you’ve been waiting for!!
And remember even the little things count so please Repost this! Donate to her Rescue Group! Tell your friends! Let’s find this buddy a home!!

TerraCycle’s goal is to help eliminate the idea of waste by taking what is usually considered as non-recylable items into recyclable. How do they do this you ask?
Well they have different materials that qualify for their program and they divide them up into categories (such as chip bags, coffee bags, cellphones, drink pouches, etc.) These categories are referred to as “Brigades.” These brigade programs offer free shipping as well as a donation to a charity of your choice for each piece you collect and send in. The packaging waste is then turned into a cool new reusable product. Example: Capri Sun Juice Pouches turned into a bag!! They even have old billboard sign materials reused into these awesome one of a kind YakPaks!
So lets make those “non-recylcables” into something reusable!!

What better way to start out the new month and last month of the year!
Come learn on the urgent matter of fighting against hydraulic fracturing! If you don’t know much about this issue yet, it is highly encouraged that you come to this meeting! There will also be helpful information in assisting you to write those letters and comments to the DEC/NY State department of Environmental Conservation/Governor Cuomo (Also DEC has extended comments to be sent by January 11th! So we have even more time to make our voices really be heard!)
There will also be a slide presentation by Dave Publow from United For Action
Hope to see you there!!

The DEC Public hearing yesterday in downtown NYC was dominated by opponents to frackers who were given the chance to speak out against Hydraulic Fracturing and the so called “Natural” gas it produces.
Many cheers were heard amongst the crowd of about 900 NYers who showed up to fight to save their water, land, health and future.
Out of the 40 slots to speak during the first hearing, 39 of those people were brave opponents to fracking arguments (who all made wonderful statements why fracking should be banned). And then there was the exception of the one fracker who decided to cut in line and speak out of turn. Don’t worry, he was heavily booed for his whole 3 minutes of speaking time!
Along with such a great turn out of politicians and NY residents to speak out against fracking, there was great news announced! January 11, 2012 is the new extended date (originally Dec 12th) to send in your comments! So continuing writing those passionate letters! This gives you your chance to speak your mind (since some of us aren’t so great with public speaking).

Keystone XL Pipeline & Government Agencies: Full Speed Ahead?
Dear Friend,
We’ve suspected for quite a while that the State Department was biased towards approving the Keystone XL pipeline.1
But if there was any remaining doubt, it has been shattered.
Evidence is piling up that the State Department has maintained a corrupt and biased “review” process, including cozy ties between State Department officials and TransCanada lobbyists, and — incredibly — allowing a company employed by TransCanada to conduct the environmental review and public hearing processes….(read more and take action here.)
